“Love City Sings” is a FREE inclusive, participatory festival hosted Voices of Philly (a free Philly youthchoir) which brings 250 middle/high school students together from 14 schools across Philly to learn songs in the aural-oral tradition from community experts. Past clinicians have included Dr. Whitney Covalle, Dr. Rollo Dilworth, Ms. Norma Jean Hughes, and Ms. Suzzette Ortiz. This is a participatory experience for students to make music without any prior preparation - to not only honor the aural-oral tradition as a cultural experience and rich way of teaching/learning music - but to support our emerging vocal/choral programs.
